Akkar Trial Station

In 2002, Robinson Agri launched its 16 hectares trial station, where innovative and modern technologies and practices, and latest products (seeds, films, pesticides…) are tested under local climatic conditions, before introduction to the Lebanese market.

Located in the center of an important area for vegetables production in Lebanon, Akkar plain, our Station for Vegetable Production has focused on and built extensive expertise in applied and practical greenhouse and field-grown vegetable crops to provide answers to Lebanese farmers in Horticulture practices. In this context, regular visits are organized to the station for Lebanese farmers from different regions to check on new varieties, and the latest technologies and innovations in the agricultural field.
Our mission is supporting the entire vegetable production sector to attain an innovative, competitive and sustainable position in the vegetable markets.
The station activities include:

  • Production of different vegetable crops using modern practices
  • Assessment of new bred vegetable varieties under greenhouses and in open field
  • Studies on responsible uses of fertilizer, pesticides and water…
  • Identification and evaluation of sustainable cultivation practices
In 2010, the company joined a new project to the trial station: Cut Roses project where 2 hectares are dedicated to produce top quality roses of newest varieties.
The projects in Akkar are managed with ne main objective: devising application possibilities for new techniques and culture methods while improving existing techniques and culture methods under practical circumstances.
